I’m Alison E. Rieger and I began working as a freelancer in 2024. Prior to this, I worked as a librarian for eight years in both academic and public libraries. In addition to indexing, I also enjoy taking on proofreading and research projects. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The Ohio State University and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University. I have studied indexing extensively and have completed graduate-level coursework on the organization of information. I also contributed to a large-scale project indexing newspaper articles for a local history website while working as a librarian. Lastly, I am a member of the American Society for Indexing and regularly seek out continuing education and professional development opportunities. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, music, traveling, and cooking. My full resume and samples of my work are available upon request.
